19493 - IONIZATION TEST KIT

The Desco Ionization Test Kit allows the 19492 Digital Static Field Meter to be used to measure the offset voltage (balance) and charge decay of ionization equipment.

Specification

The Ionization Test Kit isolates the conductive Plate and positions it 1” away from the end of the Digital Static Field Meter.The battery operated Charger then allows one to quickly place a +/-1,000 volt charge on the Plate which since it is isolated will remain there for some time. The Periodic Verification of Air Ionizers test in accordance with ESD-SP3.3 is to place the Kit in the Ionizer’s airflow and use a stopwatch to measure the discharge times to reduce a 1,000-volt charge to 100 volts and to reduce a -1,000 volt charge to -100 volts. With the Kit grounded, it can then approximate offset voltage (balance).

19640 - Surface Resistance Checker Desco

Economical Compliance Verification Surface Resistance Checker.

Specification

Used for determining if a surface is dissipative, conductive, or insulative.

Technical Information

The Desco 19640 Surface Resistance Checker is a

portable battery powered checker fitted with built-in

parallel electrodes that allow for tests of material surface

resistance. This checker is designed for quick checks

of surface resistance for ESD control applications in

electronics manufacturing or handling environment.

The Surface Resistance Checker is equipped with

an automatic test voltage selector. The test voltage

will switch from 10V to 100V should the measured

resistance exceed 1 x 105

ohms. Two banana jacks

and an electrode toggle switch allow for the connection

of two external 5 pound electrodes that measure surface

resistance point to point (Rtt).

The Surface Resistance Meter Kit (or its Meter) is referenced and designed to be used to make Resistance Measurements.

TB-3089 Portable Charged Plate Monitor

The Desco 19494 Portable Charged Plate Monitor (CPM) is a handheld meter designed to check the offset voltage and discharge times of air ionizers per ANSI/ESD SP3.3 and ESD TR53. The meter’s integrated timer measures decay rates from ±1000V to ±100V to determine the ionizers’ ability to neutralize both positive and negative electrostatic charges within the coverage area. The 180-degree rotary head with 2.75ʺ x 1.25ʺ plate allows the operator to read the display at various angles. The Portable Charged Plate Monitor is calibrated to NIST standards and include a certificate.
